Local karate members do well at gradings

A black belt is worn by an expert in judo, karate and other martial arts.

The KWF South African Grading took place on May 8, and the Benoni Dan Triangle Karate Club took part.

The grading was held in Parktown North and was run by shihan Malcolm Dorfman (9th Dan) and a grading panel.

“I am very proud of my members. They have put in many hours of training and were well prepared,” said sensei Chris Anthony.

“They worked hard and their hard work paid off. It took them many years of training to achieve their different levels of black belt. The standard of the grading was very high, so well done to all of them. You make me very proud.”
