Slug that ball!

The Benoni Indians have an u-8 and u-10 league, which is also played in the T-Ball format within their local club league.

Primary schools from all over the East Rand are slugging it out in the annual schools T-Ball League at the Benoni Indians Baseball grounds.

There are 14 schools competing, with teams from Grade One to Three, every Tuesday and Thursday.

“This is a shortened version of the game baseball, which makes for much excitement among the children as they show off their grit and competitiveness to beat their rivals,” said Clifford White, Benoni Indians Junior Baseball chairperson.

The following schools are competing: Farrarmere Primary, Summerfields Primary, Rynfield Primary, Curro Serengeti, Maranatha, Woodlands, Ecokids, Shangri-La Acadamy, Ridgewood College, Cotswold Primary, Curro Helderwyk, Pinnacle, St. Dunstans and Ashton Primary.

“I have seen some great talent displayed on the fields during this school’s challenge and I hope that we can nurture some natural talent and get the children to join the baseball club.”

“We believe the T-Ball League has become a great hit with the children and parents alike, so if you want some fun and excitement on a Sunday morning, the little league field is where you want to be,” concluded White.

If you want to enjoy T-Ball for longer than the schools league takes place, join the baseball club at Northerns or if you are living in other areas, Clifford White is happy to put you in touch with the clubs in your area.
