CGA to host women’s seminar
The goal of the seminar is to equip, empower and encourage participation of women in athletics.
The Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) will host the 2022 Women’s seminar on August 9 under the theme Development of the girl child, to equip, empower and encourage women’s participation in athletics.
An ENCA sports journalist Hloni Mthimkhulu, actress Thandy Matlaila, Alyssa Conley, Cia Oldknow and Lebo and Lebogang Phala will be on the panel speaking on the topics of women in coaching, administration, leadership, past and present female athletes.
“CGA Women’s Committee launched a Hygiene Drive project in 2020 to ensure that no girl child misses athletics or any sport because of not having sanitary towels or hygiene necessities. Therefore sanitary towels and toiletries will assist in that regard.

“The Youth Girls clinics programme is one of the beneficiaries of the Hygiene Drive, targeted at young girls, especially in previously disadvantaged communities.
“The day’s activities will include a discussion on some of the challenges facing young girls and life skills to empower a girl child to achieve great things,” said CGA communications manager Nongcebo Siziba.
According to Siziba, due to limited seats, CGA has reached the limit on physical attendance. However, the ladies can still join the seminar live on the Central Gauteng Athletics Facebook page.
