Jaguars cubs selected for national U15 training camp

The camp will take place in October

The Gauteng East Jaguars’ Joshua Hamman and Jeandre Buitenbarg have been selected to participate in the U15 national indoor cricket training camp in October.

The two players have been playing action cricket for the past three years. Their coach, Chad Botha, told the paper it has been a privilege to coach the duo because of their dedication and drive to succeed.

“They know when it’s time to have fun and when they need to focus. They put their heads down and work. Coaching these boys has also taught me a lot,” he said.

Joshua expressed his love for action cricket.

“It means a lot to me as it keeps me active. It’s an amazing sport to be involved in as it’s fun and interesting,” Joshua said.

Jeandre said he will represent the Jaguars with pride at the camp.

“I feel honoured to represent the Jaguars at the IPT. The sport has taught us a lot about teamwork on and off the field and the importance of supporting our teammates.

“Our coach has supported us with everything through the hard and good times. We worked hard to be where we are today.

“A lot of training and our time has gone into our cricket to make the national side training camp. This is a very big opportunity for us and we are looking forward to it,” he said.
