Morgan Ridge resident Deegan Bilson won gold in the boys U12 45-50kg category at the Gauteng Judo Open held at the University of Witwatersrand on February 11. Deegan swept aside seven competitors on his way to winning first place. “Deegan is consistent with his training and dedicates hours in the dojo. He started as a small boy with sensei Clint at Budo Kwan and has recently moved over to Atlas Judo Kwan with sensei Vince. It has proven he has what it takes. He's dedicated and persistent."
