Old Bens win T20 cup opener

The Old Bens Cricket Club premier side claimed a six-wicket win against Geluksdal in their Easterns Premier T20 cup opening match on October 9.

Fielding first, the hosts restricted their visitors to 120/8 in their 20 overs.

Junior Masuku of Old Bens bowlers claimed three scalps while Stephan Kellerman grabbed two wickets. Sheldon Kruger, Henre Eveleigh and Keanan Shaw all chipped in with one wicket each.

Set a target of 121 to win in 120 balls, Old Bens managed to chase their target in 15.4 overs, scoring 130/4 to win.

Kellerman top-scored with 34 runs while Dumi Thantsha got 28.

Old Bens’ next game is at home against Avion Park on October 16 at 13:30.
