Wishing the matrics well

It's all systems go for the class of 2013 matriculants and we would like to take this opportunity to wish them well in their exams.

The exams kicked off yesterday with English Paper One and it has been reported that more than 700 000 pupils took part.

Last year, the matric pass rate was reported to be 75.7 per cent and we only hope that the figures will improve this year.

Closer to home, we have a best performing school, the Benoni High School, which has always managed to keep Benoni on the map.

The Benoni High School has for many years in succession obtained nothing less than 100 per cent pass rate.

We wish them all the luck in keeping and maintaining this wonderful record and we hope other local schools can follow in its footsteps.

To motivate the matrics, one can borrow from the words of former state president Nelson Mandela when he said: “Education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world”.

Education is very important for the development of every country.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
