Carstens rocks Benoni
Arno Carstens performed at Grid and Grill, Rynfield, on May 28.
The South African rock musician started his musical career as the lead singer for the Cape Town band, Springbok Nude Girls, in 1994, but has continued as a solo artist since 2003.
Carstens has released a total of 11 albums, winning five South African Music Awards (Sama) in the process.
The evening was opened by Johannesburg bands, Trevor Rebello and Rob May. After a good warm-up, the opening bands gave the stage to Carstens, who didn’t dissapoint.
The pub was tightly packed by adoring fans, ready to enjoy the music and lyrics of a South African music legend.
