Former Miss Benoni bags another win
Victoria added that both pageants are national and aim to assist in inspiring the youth.
Miss Benoni 2016 Victoria Welthagen has again brought honour to Benoni by winning the Miss Johannesburg 2021 and placing as the first princess in Miss Gauteng 2021.
Both pageants took place on October 16 in Brakpan where the Benoni resident made her appearance for the third time in the Miss Gauteng pageant and first time in the Miss Johannesburg pageant.
“It was an unbelievable feeling to make it this far,” Victoria said.
“This has been one of my goals for a few years so I’m truly honoured.
“Both titles hold big platforms. I have worked with many charities and organisations and I would like to continue doing this works.”
Victoria added that both pageants are national titles and aim to assist in inspiring the youth.
“These two pageants were a lot of hard work fundraising, designing and making outfits, collecting charity goods, preparing for interviews and speeches and finally the day of the pageant,” the 25-year-old explained.
“I’m so honoured and privileged to work under one of the CEO’s of Opulent Models South Africa previously known as Top Model South Africa and I would like to continue working with this amazing team.”
The City Times has followed Victoria’s journey since her win as Miss Benoni in 2016.
She has since started her own company, entered pageants and become an athlete.
“Since I won Miss Benoni and experienced so much in that year, I set my sights on bigger titles and wanted to build and grow myself as a person,” she said.
“Winning Miss Benoni was a life-changing experience. It was my dream since I could remember. I learned so much in that year. I have built contacts, learnt how to carry myself, public speaking, helping people, hosting events, fundraising and much more. This has definitely helped define me in these bigger competitions.”
The estate agent will try again in 2022 for the Miss Gauteng title but for now, she will continue helping charities and organisations in need.
