How to set the perfect Easter table in three steps
Make Easter extra festive with these table setting tips.
Let’s celebrate that we can get together again and spoil friends and family with a stunning Easter table spread on Easter Sunday. Not sure where to start? We’ll get you going with these three table setting must-haves:
- Floral feast
Easter is all about celebrating resurrection and the gift of life and what better way to do so than with festive florals to set the mood? Think tulips, daffodils or daisies if you want to be traditional. For a proudly local, modern twist, go with proteas or strelitzias. You can even add some Easter eggs in your floral arrangement or simply lay eucalyptus twigs on the table and scatter Easter eggs on top.
- Easter eggs
What’s Easter without Easter eggs? Whether they are hand painted, wooden or the chocolate variety, make sure to display the Easter eggs by laying them in a cute basket stuffed with some soft foliage. Add some personality to the table by asking your local cookie lady to make some Easter cookies with your guests’ names on them to double up as a sweet, edible table name tag. If you follow the Easter branch tradition, add some greenery or baby’s breath around the bottom of the branch to give it a softer, whimsical feel.
- Style your way
You can never go wrong with traditional, soft pastel colours for an Easter table, but if you want to break the mold a bit, go for an elegant table with crisp whites and forest greens. Pop a cute Easter bunny (or three) in the center around the flowers and scatter a couple of metallic Easter eggs on the table for a simple, chic look. Alternatively, go for a light gray colour theme coupled with soft pastel colours for a modern twist.
