Fashion Fair showcases local talents
The Durban Fashion Fair wowed fashionistas who flocked to the Durban Exhibition Centre to catch the show at the weekend.

DURBAN is fast becoming an internationally recognised fashion city and the Durban Fashion Fair, which was launched on Thursday, saw fashionistas treated to back to back shows, from young, emerging, established names as well as international designers at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
“Durban has a big fashion future- and there’s no better place to celebrate that than on the runway with this year’s bigger and better Durban Fashion Fair,” said a confident DFF programme manager, Sindi Shangase.
Shangase said the DFF started as a dream, as an event within an event at the annual Small Business Fair. “Today it is a standalone fashion extravaganza spanning four days,” she added.
Deputy eThekwini Mayor, Nomvuso Shabalala welcomed local and international guests at the launch inviting them to experience both the fashion and culture the city has to offer. “Fashion has a place in the economy of the city, especially to address triple challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality. We are committed to developing the sector and to ensuring that we grow the industry by investing in the proper infrastructure and resources to make Durban a vibrant, creative and internationally recognised fashion city.”
