Road rehabilitation will cause delays
Motorists are urged to exercise patience and caution while rehabilitation of roads in the area is undertaken.

REHABILITATION of various roads in Glenwood, Bulwer and Congella will start at the beginning of September and is anticipated will be completed by February 2014.
According to the Ethekwini Municipality Roads Provision Department, the project has been identified and prioritized using the eROADS system-road asset management tool.
PR councillor and ward 33 candidate, Nicole Graham, said: “I’m very glad to see that our roads are being rehabilitated and kept in a good condition. I urge all residents to be patient with regards to any resulting delays or inconviniences. I will monitor the progress of this work.”
Roadworks will be evident on Esther Roberts, Glenwood, from Clark Road to Rick Turner Road, Helen Joseph Road, Bulwer, from Cato Road to Gale Street, Heather Road, Bulwer, from Esther Roberts Road to Umbilo Road, Edmonds Road, Glenwood, from Albert Dlomo Road to Rhodes Avenue, Campbell Road, Bulwer, from Clark Road to Che Guevera Road, Ebor Avenue, Bulwer, from Helen Joseph Road to Bulwer Road, Cato Road, Bulwer, from King George V Avenue to King Dinuzulu Road, J B Marks Road, Bulwer, from Alan Paton Road to King Dinuzulu Road, Canterbury Grove, Bulwer, from Che Guevera Road to King Dinuzulu Road, Canada Road, Congella, from Williams Road to Umbilo Road and Canberra Road, Congella, from Williams Road to Umbilo Road.
According to Musawenkosi Ntinga from the department, the construction phase on these roads will involve heavy equipment that will be used to remove the existing surface as well as construct the new layers.
To maintain a safe environment for both road users and construction personnel, traffic will be controlled using STOP/GO controls.
It is hoped work will be complete by February, depending on weather conditions and the availability of special materials such as bitumen.
“Residents and road users are requested to exercise extreme caution and patience while travelling through the work zone during the construction phase. Motorists’ co-operation is highly appreciated,” said Ntinga.
