Glenwood Prep pupils received awards at a recent maths challenge prize-giving.

GLENWOOD Prep’s Maths boffs did the school proud with their excellent performance at the 2013 Star College Horizon Maths Challenge.

Noteworthy achievers include Grade 6 pupil Francis Moran  who was awarded overall 2nd prize in the Open Senior Primary Division. Francis won an iPod Nano along with a medal. Riolan Moodley attained 8th place overall while Ethan Buchanan (Grade 6) attained 15th place in the competition.

Glenwood Prep emerged as the 2nd highest achieving school in this competition. Mrs Tarryn Locke, the Glenwood Prep Maths Extension Teacher, received a trophy for her contribution to the development of Mathematics as a school subject.

The first round of the prestigious challenge involved 6000 entrants from 130 schools throughout KZN. In May this year, Grade 6 and 7 pupils from Glenwood Prep were among the 750 KZN pupils who wrote the second round of the Star College Horizon Maths Challenge.
