New dates for Umbilo sector meetings
Umbilo CPF has an area specific crime meeting every month which the community is invited to attend for crime awareness news and tips.
THE Umbilo Community Police Forum’s executive has advised its monthly meetings where crime trends and asafety concerns are discussed, will be split into two areas and held in two venues on separate days.
The northern area, which includes Bulwer and Glenwood from Berea Road to François Road and South Ridge to the M4 will meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 6pm in The Glenwood Junior School Hall (Alan Paton Road).
The first meeting is on Wednesday, 9 October. This area is defined by Umbilo SAPS as Sector 1. Captain Premhid is the Sector commander.
The southern area, (Sector 2) includes Umbilo, Carrington Heights and Glenmore south of François Road to the Umbilo River and from the M4 to Cato bush meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the Port Natal School hall. The first meeting is on Tuesday, 8 October. Sector 2 is under the command of Lt Col Correa.
The community is encouraged to attend these meetings and to interact with the CPF, the SAPS and their neighbours in a joint effort to fight crime.
