Reaching for the stars
Don't miss some of the provinces top young musicians in concert.
THE cream of the province’s high school-going musical performers will be showcased at KZN Rising Stars at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday 1 December at 11am, and on Tuesday 3 December at 7:30pm at the Durban Jewish Centre. Arranged by the South African Society of Music Teachers and presented by Friends of Music, this year’s concerts feature singers Elisabeth Manduell and Phumla Dlomo, pianists Ewan Slabber and Margie Fan, recorder players Amy Diack and Matthew Coetzee, and the Hillcrest High Glee Choir. They will perform music from the early Baroque Period to the present day including songs from musicals and African Traditionals. Tickets are R40 (R20 for students) through Computicket or at the door (for the Tatham Gallery concert call Bryony on 033 392 2825.)
