Prof gives talk on Dark Energy
A professor of astrophysics in France will speak on Dark Energy at a public talk at UKZN.

Jean-Paul Kneib, a professor of astrophysics in France, will speak on Dark Energy: How to rip the universe apart.
Kneib is a professor at the laboratory of astrophysics and a director of research at the National Centre for Scientific Research. He obtained his PhD at Paul Sabatier University of France, and his research topics include gravitational lensing, clusters of galaxies, dark matter, formation and evolution of galaxies, dark ages, redshift surveys, dark energy and cosmology.
Prof Kneib’s goal is to assemble a focused research group in a unique environment at the crossroad of astrophysics, cosmology and fundamental physics, to shed new ‘light on the dark’ using new analysis techniques and new observations coming from on one side, wide field imaging and spectroscopy galaxy surveys, and one the other side, deep multi-wavelength surveys of massive galaxy clusters.
