Durban road closures
Roads in and around Durban will be closed to accommodate the SA time trials championships.
MOTORISTS are reminded of road closures this week as the SA Time Trials Championships take place from 4-6 February.
The South bound carriageway of Masabalala Yengwa Avenue will be closed to traffic between Smiso Nkwanyana Road and Somtseu Road
The East bound carriage way of Athlone Drive between Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Snell Parade.
Snell Parade between Battery Beach road and Athlone Drive
Battery Beach Road between Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Snell Parade.
Alternate routes are as follows:
When approaching the CBD from Durban North on Kenneth Kaunda Road, motorists will be able to use Smiso Nkwanyana Road to proceed onto Umgeni Road and then proceed south towards the CBD.
Durban North motorists could also proceed onto the M4 via Athlone Drive and be diverted via Riverside Road to join the M4 towards the City.
When approaching the CBD from Umgeni Road, motorists are urged to please remain on Umgeni Road and proceed towards the CBD
Motorists approaching from the west of Umgeni Road on Smiso Nkwanyana road to proceed towards the CBD via Umgeni Road.
Traffic exiting the CBD can use the North bound carriage way of Masabalala Yengwa Avenue at all times.
