Studio opens
Durban has a new creative space for upcoming photographers and artists at Durban Studio on Florida Road where beginners entering the industry can rent out the studio and equipment for shoots and projects.
PHOTOGRAPHERS, designers, artists and socialites flocked to the opening of Durban Studio, a new photographic studio on Florida Road for professional and amateurs.
Durban Studio will give beginner photographers, photography graduates, artists and designers the opportunity to rent out the studio and use it as a workshop for their clients.
The studio which is totally white, boasts large photo flashes, a beauty dish, tripods, various photography props, light stands and light gels for renters to use as they wish.
Abhi Indrarajan, a well known face behind the lens is co-partner of the studio with the ICS Store. He was excited about the opening of the well-equipped studio.
“As a student of photography many years ago, it would have been wonderful for me to have had a place like this to work from. It would have helped to further my career much faster.
“When one leaves college, one does not have easy access to such facilities and neither can they afford them.
“Therefore opening a studio in the hub of student activity is the perfect place for graduates to work from and at a 50% discounted rate, every young photographer will have a chance to exercise their skills,” said consummate cameraman Abhi.
To celebrate the opening of the studio, Indrarajan’s exclusive exhibition of High Dynamic Range (HDR) photographs titled “Going Metal in KZN” was exhibited.
The exhibition will run until 19 February 2014.
Durban Studio which is situated within the ICS Store on 204 Florida Road, will be available for use from 6am to 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays.
