Windermere Library moves to new premises

Windermere Library will close on 9 April while it moves to larger premises within the Windermere Centre.

WINDERMERE Library will be relocated from its current location in Windermere Centre to larger premises within the centre.

eThekwini Municipality spokesman, Tahbo Mofokeng, announced this week that the library will be closed to the public from 9 April and will reopen at its new premises at the corner of Ninth Avenue and Claribel Road, on 5 May 2014. The library is currently situated at shop U15, Windermere Centre.

The Windermere library opened in 1982 at its current address and over the years has grown in popularity due to its convenience to the residents of Morningside and the people who work around Windermere Centre. This has caused an increase in library stock and usage forcing the library to move to larger premises.

The spacious new premises will accommodate more people and allow for additional services/activities for the public. Future plans for the library include the construction of an internet café, lounge and study areas.
