Don’t miss these election day freebies

Business gives new meaning to the term 'free elections'.

Exercising your democratic right is not the only incentive you’ll have to vote come election day on Wednesday 7 May, with businesses offering plenty of freebies to the voting public. Taxi service Uber, and food outlets Wimpy and The Fish & Chip Co are some of the businesses offering election day specials to voters.

Wimpy is offering a free cup of coffee to voters who present their inked thumbs, while The Fish & Chip Co has a voters’ special on a Russian, chips and can of Coke, and another special of two free samoosas for free if you buy mini chips.

Meanwhile, during polling hours (7am-9pm) on May 7, Uber is offering two free rides (for new and existing users) to and from all polling stations in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
