Election day got off to a bumpy start in KwaZulu-Natal this morning as reports claimed that some stations failed to open at 7am as scheduled, with a 45-minute delay reported at Durban’s City Hall.
Irate voters who had been queuing since the early hours reportedly demanded answers from officials as to the cause of the 45 minute delay, with IEC officials complaining they did not have a police escort when collecting ballot papers this morning.
In Glenwood and Umbilo voting seems to be going smoothly, according to these tweets :
Cast my vote! Took less than 5min at Carrington Heights, Umbilo, Durban. Always feels like a very proudly South African day #Election2014
