Biker injured in hit and run
Glenmore Neighbourhood Watch members apprehended a driver involved in a hit and run.
A BIKER has been left with serious injuries after a hit and run accident on Queen Mary Avenue, Glenwood, just after 6pm on Sunday night (18 May).
“Glenmore Neighbourhood Watch members received a frantic call from members of the public informing them of the serious collision and proceeded to the scene while informing Rescue Care paramedics.
On arrival they found the seriously injured biker lying on the side of the road. The vehicle that had hit the biker had sped off and was stopped by the Glenmore Neighbourhood Watch members nearby,” said Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care.
Rescue Care paramedics stabilised the biker who had suffered multiple injuries before he was transported to King Edward Hospital for further care.
“At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further. The driver of the vehicle was removed from the scene by SAPS,” said Jamieson.
