City to fix pavements

ETHEKWINI municipality has promised to fix the pavements in Bulwer Road, following an article in last week's Berea Mail.

A warning went out to pedestrians to be careful when walking in Bulwer Road, after Berea resident, Desiree Purdy, fell and hurt herself while walking along the pavement recently.

According to eThekwini head of communications, Tozi Mthethwa: “The accident is unfortunate and sincerely regretted. Following a site inspection, the uneven sidewalk has been identified and marked for maintenance by our roads inspector.”

She said the sidewalks in the vicinity were in need of an upgrade and would be prioritised for repair soon.
