Police disperse taxi strikers
Taxi drivers blocked off Durban streets in a strike against unfair intimidation by Metro Police.

TAXI drivers blocked traffic and closed roads in the CBD this morning, protesting against what they call “unfair intimidation” by Metro Police.
eThekwini Head of Communications, Tozi Mthethwa, said the municipality was aware of the incident in Denis Hurley (Queen) Street and that members from SAPS attended to the matter.
“The situation was diffused and cleared up. Certain drivers had not been informed by their association that the strike action was called off as a result of the City having communicated with their association in response to their grievances following a march last month,” she said.
