Audition for Passion Play
Aspiring actors and actresses are encouraged to audition for next year's Passion Play.
THE Durban Catholic Players Guild will be staging the 14th production of the Durban Passion Play in the Playhouse theatre during Easter in 2015.
The play, set in Jerusalem, portrays the last week of the life of Jesus. This play has been staged in Durban every five years since 1952.
All actors are amateurs who receive no payment for their performance. The play is open to all denominations and all ages.
Auditions for Passion Play 2015 will be held at Holy Family College, Glenmore, from Saturday 23 August.
There will be auditions from 11am to 2pm for the female leads (Madonna, Magdalen, Veronica, Martha) and from 2pm to 5pm for male leads (Jesus, Caiphus, Peter, John, Pilate, Herod).
On Sunday 24 August from 1.30pm to 5pm there will be auditions for crowds and people of Jerusalem.
On Saturday 30 August auditions will be held from 1.30pm to 3pm for the apostles and Sanhedrin and from 3pm to 5pm for Herod’s dancers and Roman army soldiers.
There will be call backs on Sunday 31 August.
