eThekwini marches against abuse
Hundreds of community members and organisations joined Mayor James Nxumalo to participate in the march to commemorate 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.
AS part of commemorating 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children, mayor of eThekwini, Councillor James Nxumalo lead a march from King Dinuzulu Park to City Hall to mark the launch of the campaign in the City on Tuesday.
The main purpose of the campaign is to generate an increased level of awareness among residents pertaining to incidents of violence against woman and children.
The annual campaign is aimed at highlighting the negative impact of violence against women and children and highlights government’s commitment to building a caring and peaceful society, which protects its women and children from all forms of violence. Community members, organisations and schools participated in the march.
