Stuck burglar rescued by police

A criminal who could be awarded for SA's dumbest criminal was rescued from the ceiling of a flat before his arrest last week.

A criminal in Berea could earn himself an award for being one of Durban’s dumbest after he had to be rescued before his arrest on Friday.

According to Lieutenant PN Naidoo, communications officer at Berea SAPS, police received a call about a house breaking at a flat in Clarence Road Morningside. “The officers arrived to find that a suspect approximately 30-years-old had climbed onto the fourth floor of the flat where he ripped out copper pipes and managed to get stuck in the ceiling of the flat.

“The suspect surprisingly could not escape and the police Search and Rescue team had to rescue him before Berea police could arrest him,” explained Naidoo.
