THE recovery support group, GriefShare, meets at Glenwood Presbyterian Church on Saturday mornings at 10.30am.

This is an international, non-denominational support course. Each session is stand-alone, and one may join at any stage of the 13-week course.

THE KwaZulu-Natal Branch of the South African Military History Society will meet on Thursday 14 May at 7pm in the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College Campus.

THE South African Writers' Circle will meet on Saturday, 16 May at the Westville Library (Room G4) at 11am.

The topic is Science Fiction Worlds and published authors, Melissa Delport and Cristy Zinn will be the panel of speakers. A question and answer session with the panel will follow after a short SF video. A workshop will be presented where members (and visitors) will apply their writing skills. Visitors are very welcome. LIVING beyond suicide, suffering from depression or other mental ailments. SOLOS-is a support group that meets once a month offering a non-judgmental safe environment to you, to share your feelings or just listen.

The next meeting is on Monday 18 May at 171 Bulwer Road, Glenwood, at 6pm.

CLASSES in conversational Spanish are starting at the Cancer Association of South Africa on Tuesday 19 May at 5pm.

The cost is R50 per one hour lesson and the course runs for 12 weeks. Members of CANSA and cancer survivors are invited to attend free of charge. Learn to speak Spanish sufficiently well to enjoy a visit to Spain, chat to its people, order food and handle the sort of situations most likely to occur to the tourist. Something of the traditions, culture and people of this beautiful land will be included.

THE Durban Seniors Social Club will host a coffee morning on 20 May, at Berea Congregational Church, Pardy Gardens Road, off Musgrave Road, at 9am for 9.30am. Guest speaker, Nicole Barrett of Travel Counsellors, will show slides and give a presentation on interesting day outings and away tours that can be arranged for senior citizens.
