Man robbed by sex worker in Glenwood
A man was robbed of more than R200 by a sex worker in Glenwood.

A sex worker’s client got more than he bargained for on Friday night, when he was robbed by the sex worker in Glenwood.
According to Bulwer Community Safety Forum chairperson, Heather Rorick, the forum were on patrol at about midnight when they noticed one of the regular sex workers in the area walking up and down the road.
“When we came past her the second time we noticed her speaking to a young man. We watched them walking slowly up the road and continued on our patrol to the top of the road, but something just did not seem right so we turned and went back.
“We noticed a man with short dreadlocks seemed to follow and keep watch on the sex worker from across the road, sometimes calling out to her by name. He seemed to be her pimp,” she said.
Rorick said when the patrollers went back down the road they noticed the young man and the sex worker had walked down a side road, and saw the woman giving the man oral sex, but her hands were busy scratching in the pockets of the man’s pants which were around his ankles.
“When she saw us she ran off down the road leaving the young man to pull up his pants. When he did, he felt in his pockets and noticed his more than R200 had gone. He said he had already paid her R70,” she said.
The forum’s other patrol car went after the woman to detain her until the police arrived.
“She ran down to Moore Road and while running started screaming and pulling off the little bit of clothes she was wearing and then threw herself naked on the ground screaming people were attacking her. One of our patrollers tried to give her back her clothes and told her to get out the middle of the road, but she turned on him and bit him,” said Rorick.
Rorick said the police had still not arrived by then and the sex worker calmly put her clothes back, all the time clutching a hand full of paper money.
“We told her to go back and give the man his money, but she took R20 and threw it at the patrollers and then went off with the rest of the man’s money in her hand. By this time the man had also walked off,” she said.
