Pool closed for retiling
Tiling work will be completed at Tesoriere Pool over the next week.
TESORIERE pool will be closed for the next week to complete tiling work.
According to ward councillor, Nicole Graham, following a meeting in May with Maxwell Mathenjwa, superintendent of district 10 and pool users, plans were put forward to tile the pool.
“Work was supposed to start in July, but there was a slight delay. I'm so glad this has been attended to so quickly,” she said.The pool is currently being emptied and repair work will start this week, and should be finished by Wednesday next week.Graham said residents had raised issues with her about the condition and general maintenance at the pool earlier this year, and used the meeting in May as a platform to raise their concerns.
Other issues which needed attention were the long grass on the one side of the pool which harbors rats, as well as the need for the change rooms and toilets to be revamped, and for lockers to be installed for valuables. Graham also added that there was a shortage of first aid supplies, as well as toilet paper and cleaning supplies.
