
DURBAN Central police are appealing to the public to assist in solving a case of murder that occurred in July.
According to Major Thulani Zwane from SAPS, it is alleged that on 30 July at about 4am, police were alerted to an incident in an apartment on Mansel Road just off Umgeni Road, Durban, where a woman and her nephew had acid poured over them while they were sleeping.
Ntokozo Sobahle Nzuza, (34), and her nephew, Mlungisi Ngongoma, (4), sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for medical attention.
“Police recovered a container with acid in the premises that was allegedly used to harm the victims. Nzuza died in hospital last month and Mlungisi died two days ago. A case of two counts of murder is being investigated by Durban Central police,” said Zwane.
