THE public is urged to be aware of a white Polo Vivo which is making its rounds in the area, with no number plate and with two male occupants.
According to Lt Pumzile Makaula from Umbilo SAPS, there have been two incidents in the area where these men have robbed pedestrians.
“In one case, a man was walking in Feilden Drive, Glenmore, when the car stopped next to him and the men asked him for directions. The men drove away but went back and told him he had given them the wrong directions,” she said.
The passenger jumped out of the car and tried to pull the man into the car. There was a struggle and they demanded his laptop, books and USB, which he was carrying.
In another incident, a man was walking when the car stopped next to him. The men once again asked for directions to Pietermaritzburg.
“The passenger then jumped out of the car and stole the man's cellphone. The community is to be vigilant and should try not to walk alone and with cellphones and laptops and any other valuable goods on their person,” said Makaula.

It is alleged that on 29 August at Queensmead Mall, a pregnant woman approached another woman and asked her for help, saying she was not feeling well.
While trying to sit her down, another two women approached, one with a knife and demanded her bag, threatening to stab her.
She gave the women her bag and cellphone and they ran away.
