Security officer receives top honours

Mzwandile Nene was presented with a Prevention of Crime Award at an awards evening last week.

ADT Security armed response officer, Mzwandile Khumbulani Nene, was awarded top honours at the Security Industry Alliance (SIA) awards evening on Tuesday, 6 October in Johannesburg.

The annual award ceremony honours individuals and teams from within the security industry who have excelled and gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Nene was presented with a Prevention of Crime Award for his vigilance and quick reaction that resulted in the apprehension of a group of copper thieves in August this year.

Ivan Govender, district manager of ADT Security KwaZulu-Natal, congratulated Nene on his award.

“We are very proud of Mzwandile and admire his proactivity and dedication. He is a shining example of ADT’s ‘Big 5’ values – to be professional, reliable, competent, honourable and proactive.”

In addition, Mzwandile is currently attending a management leadership course for supervisors as part of ADT’s training and development program for individuals who show great potential in their respective fields.
