Police search for getaway vehicle after schoolboy hijacking

Police are on the lookout for the get-away vehicle involved in a hijacking in the Glenwood area this morning.

AN 18-year-old school boy was hijacked outside Durban Girls’ High School this morning.

At 11.30am the Glenwood High School pupil was parked outside the school when two armed men approached him and forced him out the car.
The men searched him and stole his cellphone, wallet containing cash and GPS. They drove off in his vehicle, a Ford Fiesta 2011 model.

The car was later recovered in H Section, Umlazi. SAPS chased the suspects, who had fled in a Toyota Corolla, but they managed to get away.
According to the latest information, the Toyota was spotted in the Che Guevara Road area a short while ago.
