Paramedics attend to Durban collisions
SAPS will investigate the cause of two collisions in Durban at the weekend.
RESCUE Care paramedics responded to two accidents in Durban at the weekend.
According to Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care, in the first incident, a biker sustained moderate injuries after he hit a open pot hole in Esther Roberts Road in the rain on Friday night at around 9pm.
Jamieson said paramedics arrived on scene and found the elderly gentleman lying injured in the roadway.
“Paramedics stabilised him on the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required,” he said.
On Saturday morning, three people were left with moderate injuries after two bakkies collided at the intersection of Smith and Gardiner Street.
Jamieson said paramedics arrived on the scene to find that one of the bakkies had lost control after the impact and crashed into the nearby Absa Bank.
“Paramedics found three people from both vehicles had sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics stabilised them on the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further care that they required,” he said.
Jamieson said it was unclear what caused the collisions however SAPS were on the scene of both accidents, and will be investigating further.
