MP and business unite to assist hospital with wheelchairs

MP Omie Singh distributed toys to the ill children at Childrens Ward and wheelchairs to Addington Hospital.

MEMBER of Parliament, Omie Singh made a generous stop at Addington Hospital last Thursday, where he, together with local businesses, handed over 22 wheelchairs to the hospital.

The donation was one of Singh's activities as part of a national parliamentary initiative “constituency week”, where MP's go back to their constituency to assist where needed. “This is a time to spend with family and loved ones but Ubuntu means not only family but extends to the community, so this festive season lets all practice Ubuntu and give where you can or help where you can,” he said at the handover.

Singh, members of the ANC's Gedledyihlekisa zone and business sponsors together with Father Christmas, also visited the Children's ward where they handed out presents and goodie hampers. Singh said he had seen the need for the wheelchairs at a previous visit to the hospital.
