The body of the woman found in the bushes opposite Suncoast Casino has been identified.
According to police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane, the 53-year-old woman has been identified by her daughter as Charmaine de Lange. Zwane said police responded to a complaint at about 23.15pm on Saturday and found the woman sitting in a crouched position in the bushes. She was fully clothed and there were no signs of any injuries.
It is alleged the woman had left her home in Umbilo on 31 December and was reported missing on the same day at Umbilo SAPS. A British passport was found on her, but Zwane said the woman was not a British national. He said police did not suspect foul play due to evidence found at her home and at the scene where her body was discovered.
