A RESIDENT living in Overport is urging the community to be aware of a man who gains entry to buildings in the area and steals from flats.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she has lived in her building for 18 years and has never had a problem with theft before.
“There is a tall man, between 30 and 40 years old, who is hitting flats in the Overport area. He burgled my flat on 11 January and has stolen from three flats in one day in the Musgrave area,” she said.
The woman said the man only seems to be targeting flats in the area, and gains entry by buzzing and asking for the supervisor.
“When there is no answer at a flat, he knows no one is home. It seems like he is the same man robbing flats in the area as he has a certain strategy. My maid opened the door for him and he had his arms behind his back, concealing a gun. He stole jewellery, my watch, laptop and tablet,” she said.
“I urge people to be aware of this man, as he is dangerous,” she said.
