THE Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing to the community for assistance in its investigation into a case of rape.
It is alleged that in December, a 15-year-old girl was visiting a family of her friend in Cato Crest when she was forcefully raped by an unknown male.
According to Major Thulani Zwane from SAPS communications, the man took her to a shack where he raped her at knifepoint. The police were contacted and a case of rape was opened at Cato Manor police station for further investigation.
“The docket was transferred to Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit which is currently investigating the case and they believe that the man in the identikit can be of assistance in solving the case. The suspect is estimated to be in his thirties, well-built, average in height, dark in complexion and has a scar on his head,” said Zwane.
