Rubbish is a hazard, says resident
The municipality has said it will investigate and act on a pile of rubbish and garden refuse which is becoming a traffic hazard in Prospect Road.
RUBBISH left lying in a pile at the intersection of Hariettwood Crescent and Prospect Roads in Umbilo is becoming a traffic hazard, says local resident, Louisa Hitchcock..
Hitchcock said numerous calls to DSW had not met with any response, and her concerns grow as the pile gets bigger by the day.
“It is becoming a traffic hazard as well as an eyesore because driving down Harriettwood and turning into Prospect, visibility is very limited. I have also spoken to our Councillor Nicole Graham who referred me to DSW,” she said.
In response to queries, eThekwini Head of Communications, Tozi Mthethwa, said: “The City was not aware of this matter. The relevant Municipal Unit is investigating and will take the necessary action to remedy the situation.”
