Blue Monday for sales agent

A local sales agent's whole week was ruined when his car was broken into this morning within two minutes of dropping off documents at his office.

A LOCAL sales agent, was left with a bad case of the Monday blues after his two tablets were stolen from his car in Florida Road this morning.

Khaya Mathe, told Berea Mail, he was excited and psyched for a productive week ahead when “everything got dashed.” “I had gone to my office to drop off some work documents and parked just outside the office. I wasn’t even gone two minutes and when I came back out my back door window was smashed and my bag with two tablets was gone,” he explained shortly after reporting the incident.

Mathe said while he had not left the bag exposed, the thieves managed to find it and left other items in his vehicle. “I’m supposed to be working now, they (criminals) really messed up my Monday! I have to now sort out my insurance and don’t have items to sell,” he said, adding, “I thought things were safer here in Florida Road, but it seems you might be safer in the township,” the Inanda resident said.

Meanwhile Lieutenant PN Naidoo, communications officer at Berea SAPS, said, “There has been an increase in thefts from motor vehicles so we encourage people to not leave any items, valuable or not in vehicles,” he added.
