Life sentences for sex offenders

Seven life sentences were secured by KwaZulu-Natal FCS.

KWAZULU-NATAL Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are keeping sexual predators behind bars and protecting women and children.

Seven life sentences with 234 years’ imprisonment were secured and 195 arrests were made in the month of May. FCS investigators worked tirelessly tracking, tracing and arresting suspects and then sent well prepared dockets for prosecution to solve sexual related cases including rape, sexual assault, attempted rape, child stealing and abduction.

KwaZulu-Natal acting Provincial Commissioner, Major Gen Bhekinkosi Langa, welcomed the sentences handed down to the accused. “Protecting women and children in this province is our priority and we will continue to do so until we have all sexual predators in jail for a long time,” he said.
