BLUE Security armed response officers arrested four alleged thieves in Glenwood and Morningside since Wednesday morning.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said armed response officers arrested two alleged thieves who were carrying a ladder up Clarke Road in Glenwood at 8.25am on Tuesday.
“A resident gave our officers a description of the suspects who had allegedly stolen the ladder from a property in Bulwer Road. They tracked down the suspects who claimed they had found the ladder in the park,” he said.
He said Blue Security officers arrested the pair and handed them over to the Umbilo SAPS.
Jackson said in the latest arrest, alert officers had tracked down two alleged thieves who had stolen a door from a property in Henwood Road in Morningside this morning.
“Our officer responded to a panic alarm in Windermere Road where residents told him they had seen two men jumping out of a neighbour’s property with a stolen door,” he said.
The officer patrolled the area in search of the men and tracked them down in Stamfordhill Road where he found them carrying a white door. He arrested the men and took them back to the premises where he discovered that all the doors to the building had been dismantled and several had already allegedly been stolen from the property.
The suspects were handed over to Durban Central SAPS.
