Armed robbers ransack Glenwood business

Umbilo SAPS will investigate an armed robbery at a Glenwood business last week.

ARMED robbers held up a business manager and his staff in Glenwood on Thursday 4 August.

Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said a gang of five robbers robbed the staff of the King Dinuzulu (Berea) Road business at around 9.45am.

“Four of the gang members, three armed with firearms and one armed with a knife, burst into the front entrance of the business and pushed the manager and a staff member into an office, demanding the safe keys and cash,” he said.

He said they ransacked the office and forced the manager to open the safe. They fled with cellphones, cash and other valuables.

Jackson said at least two of the gang members were wearing blue overalls while two were wearing blue shirts and khaki pants. The fifth suspect had stood outside the premises during the robbery. Umbilo SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
