Desperate mum still seeks accommodation
A woman is once again appealing for help with accommodation so she can stay with her daughter and her father.

TIME is running out for the desperate Morningside mother who is searching for accommodation for herself, her elderly father and her daughter.
The woman, Genevieve, said she and her daughter only have accommodation until 26 August, and she has no idea where they are going to stay after that.
Genevieve had to be separated from her daughter and father as they were unable to find accommodation which they could afford. Her father had to move into a hostel and she and her daughter stayed in a shelter for eight months until she was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer.
The appeal for help went out to the community recently, however Genevieve received only had one call from a woman in Richards Bay, which is too far away as her daughter is currently a school pupil at Morningside Primary.
She said her previous job will be available to her once she finishes chemotherapy, however at this stage she only has a disability grant to live on, and her father has a small pension.
The woman is heartbroken that she has had to be separated from her daughter for the past month while she stayed with her mother, and her daughter had to stay with her uncle. However this was only a temporary situation.
“I really don’t know what is to become of us as my mother’s landlords have said I need to leave next week, and my brother can no longer take care of my daughter. My dad has until the end of this month before he has to leave as well,” she said.
Genevieve has once again appealed to anyone in the community who would consider allowing her, her father and her daughter to stay together in an outbuilding. She also appealed for any financial aid to help cover the costs of her father’s accommodation at the hostel where he has been staying.
