Metro celebrates women in uniform
Join the Metro Police in celebrating our women in uniform at a parade in Durban.

THE Metro Police, South African Defence Force, South African Police Services, Correctional Services Department and the eThekwini Fire Department are joining forces to host the Women in Uniform parade on 25 August.
The parade will move from Joe Slovo Street (Field Street) to the City Hall in Dr Pixley kaIsiah Seme Street (West Street) from 9.30am to 10.30am, to honour and celebrate the many women in uniform who have successfully entered a predominately male dominated field, and put their lives at risk for the safety of citizens. About 200 women in uniform representing the organisations will put their put best foot forward as they drill in formation.
The municipality is inviting the public to join in the celebrations, and also urge motorists to take note of road closures during that time.
Dr Pixley KaSeme Street will be closed off from Joe Slovo at 9.30am and is expected to be opened at 10.20am, thereafter Dr Pixley KaSeme Street will be closed off at Dorothy Nyembe Street at 10.30am and should be open at 11.30am.
Traffic will be diverted north on Joe Slovo Street from 9.30am and traffic will also be diverted south on Dorothy Nyembe Street at 10.30am.
