Man dies in Umbilo collision
The police will be investigating the cause of an accident in ZK Matthews Road, Umbilo on Thursday evening.
A MAN was killed when his vehicle collided with a pole alongside the road in Umbilo on Thursday night.
According to Chris Botha from Netcare 911, paramedics responded to the collision along ZK Matthews Road.
He said reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with the pole.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the driver had sustained life-threatening injuries. Medics worked fervently for an extended period to try to resuscitate the patient. Tragically, despite all their efforts the patient was declared dead at the scene,” he said.
Botha said exact details to the cause of the crash will form part of a police investigation.
