Braai day treat for golden oldies

Bartle House residents enjoy a Heritage Day braai.

RESIDENTS of Bartle House in Umbilo were treated to a late Heritage Day braai on Monday.

Assistant manager, Sharene Mezher, said Dirk’s Butchery in Davenport and Chester Meats, Point, donated meat for the 100 residents and an anonymous donor donated rolls and ice-cream, to enable the management to host the braai day.

“We need to spoil our residents, and as some of the kitchen staff were off on Heritage Day we decided to hold it today,” said Sharene.

The residents tucked into a plate of braai meat and salads as well as pudding, and enjoyed a festive atmosphere along with good music while they celebrated Heritage Day.
