Safety forum needs patrollers

A local community crime forum is appealing to residents to get involved in patrols.

BULWER Community Safety Forum is appealing to residents to get involved in patrols in the area.

If you live in the area between Che Guevara (Moore) Road and Alan Paton (McDonald Road), and Mazisi Kunene (South Ridge) Road to Umbilo Road, you are invited to join the patrol team.

Chairperson, Heather Rorick, said: “We already have a small team of dedicated patrollers, and what makes our team special, is that we are a multi-racial group of concerned residents who are sick of crime taking over our community. Together we are all taking a stand to take our community back from the criminals.”

The Forum does vehicle patrols in the area, and is looking for volunteers who are willing to give up a few hours a week to help make a difference in the community.
Requirements are that residents must be 18 years and over and must not have a criminal record. Having a vehicle to assist with patrols is a big plus.

If you are interested, contact Heather via SMS on 074 203 2792.
Residents can also find out more at the next Forum meeting on Tuesday, 11 October at Glenwood Community Church at 6.30pm.
