Help needed for poppy day

The Durban branch of the SA Legion is appealing for volunteers for its poppy day collection.

THE South African Legion of Military Veterans Durban Branch is appealing to the public to volunteer for its annual Poppy Day Collection on Saturday, 12 November.

The purpose of the annual Poppy Day Collection is to create awareness and ensure remembrance of those who gave their lives during past wars and as a fund raising exercise to assist all military veterans and their families who are in need.

Following the collection day, there will be a remembrance service at the Cenotaph in Gardiner Street at 10.30am on Sunday, 13 November, where the SA Legion pays homage to all those who paid the supreme sacrifice in all past conflicts.

For information on the collection as well as etiquette, contact Lgr Rick Andriés on 031 563 9495, rick@durbs.com or 078 135 0387.
